A new way to learn the weekly spelling | | Using a dry erase marker, write your child's spelling words each week on the bathroom mirror. As your child masters each word, wipe the mirror clean. By the end of the week, the mirror should be free of words and your child will be a master speller. The bonus is that your mirror will be shiny and bright with little or no effort on your part. A friend of mine used her fridge to write the spelling words on. This works great as well. Do you have any 'cool' way of learning spelling???

If you miss a letter, the other twin "wins" that word. At the end of the game, the one with the most "won" words gets a special treat....usually a popcycle, fruit snack etc. Sometimes, the words get a little hard and those get some extra special treatment. If the kids get all the hard ones correct, we go out for ice cream or rent a movie for the weekend. That way, everyone wins...and someone is felt left out!

Then he writes them and the I ask him to spell them without looking at what he wrote. Any words he gets wrong he has to write again until he does not get any wrong. He is usually pretty good at getting them all after writing them the first time.
