It does say that let's not have other gods to believe but God only. The vatican I believe (my personal conviction) is not a believer in the doctrine of God through His word so they tried to look at some other gods to direct people to. The Bible is the only standard of practice for the true Christian. Let's not be deceived!

If God had meant there was only one, those last two words wouldn't be there. I mean He did know what he was writing.

4. goldeneagle (908) | 4 months ago | I say that it is ok to believe in them. I don't know if I buy into the little green Martian theory or not, but I do believe there is other intelligent life out there. My belief in aliens is two fold. First of all, the size of the universe is far beyond anything we can comprehend. I don't know about you all, but I don't think God would have created everything that we call "outer space" only to put life on one ball of rock in one little corner of that immense creation. It just doesn't seem logical to me that He would do that. Second, on more than one occasion, I have seen things in the sky at night that I can't begin to explain. Things that can only be described as UFOs. A couple of times, I couldn't say for sure that what I was seeing wasn't a plane or a helicopter, because the distance from which I observed these objects was too far for me to make an informed decision. However, other times, I can say for sure that what I was looking at was not a helicopter or plane. The most recent occurrence happened less than a year ago, about a mile from my house. I know it wasnt a plane, because it was hovering. I know it wasn't a helicopter, because there was absolutely no noise. I was less than 150 feet from what I was seeing (all I could really see was a bright light that would move really slowly for a bit, and then hover in one place for a while) and the object was barely higher in the air than the trees, yet I couldn't hear it at all. If I had been that close to a helicopter, the noise would have been deafening. Based on the fact that someone (or something) had to be flying the things that I know were not a plane or other aircraft....you be the judge...

freethinkingagent (248) | 2 months ago | It is because of a literal translation from the Akadian and Ugarit texts before the hebrew texts, concerning the "sons of god" (beni elohim) and the shinning ones, wich aslo the sumarian root for the word serpent. When Eve turned to the "serpent" in the garden can be read as she turned to one of the "shinning ones" wich is also one in the same as, then she turned to one of the "sons of God". Psalms also as well as job talks about these other 'gods' or bini Elohim, and God says to them, "you are indeed elohim (gods) but you shall die like adam. All theuogh out the bible and mid eastern religions were writings about the gods and sons of gods 'comming down' from heaven. Also in the kumron 'dead sea scrolls' if mentions these binin elohime and describs them as grey, haveing six fingers, large eyes and an apperence of 'reptilian', and glossy or scaley skin. So these sons of god can be described as serpents or "shinning ones", who desend from the heavens in firey chariots, who have blsing swords of fire, and who can consume large armies with their 'flame'.
