Did you name your child after someone special?

I sort of did! My daughter's name is Holly Michelle -- I'd read in a celebrity magazine that was Michelle Phillips' real name (of the Mamas and Papas.) It wasn't that I named her for the person, but that I liked the name. Pretty isn't it? Obviously, I like the name Michelle too!

I loved Paul McCartney too. I used to kiss his picture at night. shhhh don't tell.

I always wanted ot name my child halle berry.... its due to my fixation on her.. i jus love the woman... o so much...

We named our son after one of my husbands good friends. He is an elderly man and has no sons of his own. He was so pleased when we told him we had named our son, Antonio after him. My daughter on the other hand is not named after anyone but her middle name is Hope in Spanish...Esperanza because I so hoped for a girl.

I named my son Jeffrey after my cousin's name jeff. We all called him Jeffrey when we were kids. When I told my son how he got his name he was confused for he was only 4 when I told him this. One day I let him meet my cousin Jeff and my son was so happy for the first thing he said to my cousin Jeff was "My mommy called me after your name" my cousin laughed and knew what he ment it was cute. My cousin and I were close as kids and are somewhat now close we talk when we get the chance to.

Yes I named one of my sons after my mother he has her maiden name, she is someone special to me xxx

My daughter is named after my grandma. Her middle name is Mae, and I gave my daughter the same middle name, because my grandma has always been kind of like my mom. She also picked out my daughter's first name, and because I ended up liking it, that is what it ended up. So, my daughter is Kaitlynne Mae. My eldest son's middle name, Keith, came from his biological father's uncle who passed away in a motorcycle accident. My youngest son's middle name, Joseph, came from his dad's middle name and also has the same middle name of the son that I lost. So, the names I picked were all for special reasons, just not named after anyone famous!

I named my first born after the most special person in my life, my father, he died when i was 7, and i always promised myself that i would name my first child after him. My son's name is Billy. (who would have been Billi if a girl.)

My son was named after his Dads best friend from childhood - he was knocked off of his bike and killed by a bus when they were young and my ex saw it happen and my daughter was given her middle name in memory of my mum who died when I was 2 - I didn't want to give her it as her first name as I don't want her as a replacement just for herself! I have been told that my daughter is very like my mum was! xxx

Well I would not say special, but my daughter is named after a one time character on a Star Trek Next Generation, because we heard the name and liked it. Both of my son's middle names are special. My first son's middle name is my dad's name and he has the same name as my husband and is grandfather, but he is not a jr. because the middle name is different. My younger son's middle name is my grandfather's,

My oldest was named after her aunt who wanted kids but could never have them, she actually just passed on about 2 years ago. My middle daughter was named after ancestors. My youngest has no family ties to her name. We went through them and none of them sounded right.
