Have you ever participated in this? When I worked outside of the home, I did and my daughters had a great time seeing things and knowing how I spent my day. Since I have been at home I have not done it. TOday was our school districts (make up day) for the program as it usually happens in April. My 8 yr old stayed home with me and helped with emails, phone calls, data entry, party planning, insurance research, we ran some errands to the bank and to the post office. She had a good time but I think I had a better time. Right now she is writing a report on how and what she did. SHe laso helped me disign some letterhead.
Have you done this,,, what are the things you did.

I used to work with a boy who needed a private nurse and personal care attendent on a daily basis. I was his private nurse. I worked a fulltime schedule from 7A to 2:45 P and occasionally worked a saturday if the family needed me to. On those days I would take one of my daughters with me. One time I took my daughter to work with me and we had a fun day at the museum of science. Not only did my daughter have a good time but my client had a great time too and they enjoyed each others company:)

My children are small, and no I have not participated in this. I work 11-7 on weekends, in a nursing home, that is full of germs. I would never take my children in there. My husband works in a prison, and taking your children to work there isnt exactly appropraite either. I did used to take my son to the hospital when I worked there, but he never went into patients rooms, or clinically dirty areas.

When I was younger, it wasn't hard for me to participate in that, since my mother ran a nursery school out of our basment, so she culd take me to work, and I'd still be at home.;-) On days off of school I used to go there anyway.

My children are still too small for this special day. I remember going with my dad all the time from the time I was 7 until I was 13! He worked at Compaq at the time and it was so much fun but boring at the same time. 7am-5pm is a long day lol. I wish I was still young at times to still enjoy this day. I cant wait until my children get older so that they can come to work with mommy.

Yes, my daughter has come to work with me the last 4 years-- she is 11. She loves to come to work with me. She loves my co-workers:) She works along with me on fun projects-- this year we did pricing tests for Inventory- made up spreadsheets for the audit and helped out other people as well. She loves to go to lunch with us- We always go to a place called the "charcoal Corral".... it's a great place (actually the drive-in) we eat outside and then get ice cream. That isn't what my normal day is for lunch-- but it's fun when she is here!
I always miss her the next day (it's always on the 3rd Thursday of April- and I miss her on Friday).
The age is 8-15 I think so she still has more years ahead of her!
