If your computer will put his self out of order!

I know nothing about the technical side of the computer but I know i can't be without it for too long, so when something goes wrong I panic somewhat, curse a lot then ring my friend who looks after my computer and he can generally fix it on line from his place..

My computer used to do break down all of the time. And I finally found the source. It was my file sharing program. Limewire. That thing is ridden with viruses and stuff. Go to Frostwire everyone. I had to take my last comuter to Best Buy. They fixed it and then some. Awesome place to go to.

Back it up. I use Acronis True Image ( https://www.regnow.com/softsell/nph-softsell.cgi?item=4864-32&affiliate=92044 ) myself. I use it to save an exact image of my Windows partition in a file(s) on my external hard drive. I can also burn the files to DVDs, so I have a plan C in case something happens to the external drive.

I actually started getting S.M.A.R.T. warnings from my desktop computer a few weeks ago, telling me that my hard drive was about to fail. So I ordered a new one from TigerDirect. As soon as I got it, I popped it in, formatted it, and restored the disk image. Everything was back to normal in just a few hours, rather than days or weeks.

If this is too technical for you, then you could go to Best Buy and ask the Geek Squad to create an image archive of your Windows partition for you and burn it to DVDs. Don't lose them! If something happens to your system, you can take it in and have them restore your system from the DVDs.

Stay cool, don't try to fix it your self, ask somebody who really know. Unless it is infected by a virus and your computer is relatively new, the cause of problem are simple and easy to fix.

I would strongly suggest you take a pro-active stance on this, update anti-malware, do regular scan, use clean up tools and save the tech guys number.
