I just read about how to sell on amazon on their website. I guess I was thinking it would be more like ebay-- but really it's not. I guess you only have fixed price, and not really an auction style. The good thing is you aren't charged unless your item sells, but I don't think I like them being able to handle the shipping credits, and basically you either have to make sure you charge enough to cover the difference, or eat it.
I have a bunch of things I could sell on amazon, but I'm wondering if you really get good hits there. I do great on ebay. When I think amazon-- I only think of buying books. Does anything sell, other than books?

I have some old college books that I thought would sell on there. I did look up the books that I have, some of them anyway-- and did see them on there, but have no idea if they are really selling.

Anybody have any luck with it?

Amazon do have an auction section but I think it's pretty underused. The main venue for selling is the Amazon Marketplace, and I have sold successfully on there for quite a few years. I actually quite like the shipping credits, especially for books. Most smaller books and paperbacks are more than covered with the shipping credit you receive and usually you make money from that. It's only the heavier books you really have to watch out for, often with those it costs more to ship than you get credit for so you need to factor in the cost in your price. I've found that books do sell, but can be a little slow. My quickest sales have been second hand video games and DVDs. I have had games sell within a matter of hours of being listed! So if you've got some good games pop them on there, it's worth it. When you're listing (before you hit submit) you can see on the page how much you will get after all fees have been deducted so you can see how much you will make. I've found it really easy to do, no photos required, just a brief description and you're done.

That does sound pretty appaeling. I may try it with some of my books. i'll keep that in mind about cds and movies and games as well. I pretty much sold all of my movies on ebay, but they were series things and I made out well.

I'll check it out next time for my other things.
THanks for the help!

I used to sell stuff on Amazon and on eBay. I like that Amazon has a set price for books and CDs and DVDs, it's easier to make more money on those items on Amazon than it is on eBay. On eBay I found it a lot easier to make more money on other items. Both of them have their perks, they're both great websites.

Thanks for letting me know about amazon! I wonder if college books would sell on there.
