Shania Twain and Mutt Lange splitting  

I'm not shocked, because it is a celebrity marriage, and it never shocks me when they end. And, with having close friends recently ending or contemplating ending long marriages, I know that marriage may not last forever, no matter how long the union has existed and how much love was there in from the start.

That being said, they are not a couple I would have expected to hear this about. But, then again, they are not a couple who is often in the spotlight, so we don't know what their home life is like.

It is sad to see love end, though.

Oh...that is too bad. Yes, it is sad to see this happen especially to people who have not been in one controversy after another, kwim? And it's sad to see a long standing marriage, celebrity or not, end. I am glad to see they're handling this the same way they handled their marriage...privately. I tend to think that is how I would be if I were a celebrity- private, quiet and more in the background.

I read about this earlier this morning online and I was more shocked to see that she had been married as long as she has and that her child is that age. It don't seem that long ago that she was pregnant. I am not a big Shania Twain fan but I do wish them all the best.

Hi mooch! I read the article and it is sad. I thought they might be one of those celebrity couples who can really withstand all the trials and would really last. I do love the song "You're Still The One" and they do make beautiful music together. It is just sad that some good things never last.

I am from Ontario and feel bad for them and their son though I have to admit I am more surprised they lasted as long as they did. They didn't know each other for a long time before getting married and they are in the public eye so 14 years is like 50 for them. I wish them all the best of luck co parenting their son.

I think that it is awful too that they cannot get it worked out. I think alot of stars and celebrities find it easy to move on because they get so much attention from alot of other stars and people in their lives. they know how easy it is to find and be with someone else and they do not care what it costs them to get in or out of a marriage.

Wow...that was definitely a surprise. well celebrity marriages often end badly. sometimes i wonder if its done on purpose to boost both the parties names up in the news...not that im saying thats what happened here but still...the bigger names tend to be the ones that you hear about more quickly and sad to say, many times its things like this that do it
