So Mad At WallyWorld!

I have heard people on here mention that before. The Wal*Mart that I shop at still has their sewing department. For now that is. From what I have been seeing on here that may change in the future.

I'm in a pretty small town too and while they have a lot of things that no one else does in town... they tick me off on a regular basis, lol. We still have our fabric dept though the employees are rude and the clothes leave much to be desired.

Have you ever thought of finding a store online to buy your stuff from? I'm sure there are tons to choose from with an even bigger selection than even Walmart could ever dream of having! I know you'd have to wait for it to get mailed to you, but at least it would be cheaper than the gas it would take to drive farther.... not to mention more selection and not even having to leave your house!

I really don't care that much for Wally world, I believe they are too big to care about the shoppers.. I try and go to K-Mart more often than not, but we do have a huge Hobby Lobby that carries everything that you can imagine for your home and for every crafter or craft project you can think of.. Really, everything about Wal-mart aggravates me..

There haven't been any changes in the Wal-Marts in Red Deer, but they did change the one in Edmonton - I had a really hard time finding ANY of the things I needed - a stop that should have taken 10 minutes took my 35!!

I'm not convinced that bigger is better.

im very far from your place ...and can easily access to anything i like to buy such as what you had mentioned above...fortunately our place is just near the shopping malls we have 4 malls near our home...if im in your shoes then i will surely be dismay of that situation...

They took out the one in our Walmart too, my wife was very upset. Now she has to go to HobbyLobby or Michaels stores.

I live in a small town also, and wal-mart is the only place around here to get stuff like that, without having to drive 35 to 40 mins. away. I also heard that they were going to do away with the fabric dept. in our store too, but so far they haven't its still there. But in our area there are alot of Amish people, and I was wondering where would they go, if that happened? They don't go to town too often, usually they hire someone to drive them if they need to go, and they all make their own clothes and all that stuff too, I'm sure it would make it hard on them also, Wal-mart gets alot of business from them. I don't think they would want to have to go far away to get what they need. Thats the only thing that aggravates me.

How sad. There have been many changes in WalMart recently, and none of them good, that I could see. Sam Walton is probably turning over in his grave.

I'm sure it has to do with the almighty dollar, and the fabric department probably wasn't bringing in enough revenue to warrant that prime piece of real estate. It doesn't matter than people have nowhere else to get those items, it's all about the dollar.

That just lets you know that there are not many people in your area that sew. I know that is not a good thing for you though. You should say something to the management about that. Who knows they might keep it. Just try and see what they say.
