Do you ever share too much on MyLot? Should some things stay private? |
|
Sometimes I post things that I regret later. If I'm having a bad day, MyLot is the first one to hear about it. I should blog this stuff, but I would prefer to post here. Maybe I should keep some stuff to myself. But, simply posting my life moments helps me get through them. If I had to bottle this stuff up, I'd probably feel worse. Posting on MyLot is very healing.
If my kid is cranky, then I post that. If I'm having success, then I post that too. So, I guess you could say that I post a fair mix of my good and bad moments. Do you ever share way too much on MyLot? Do you regret it later and then try to take it back? What's the worst thing you've ever shared on MyLot?

If I want to describe a situation, I need not describe the people involved, just that people were involved, and this is what happened. I don't EVER use names, not even my own.

2. the_ruler (993) | 2 years ago | Well, the same problem might happen for many members of mylot I think. Because our nature just forces us to share the heavy weight on our shoulders with other people around us. As you already might have experienced, those weights might be to heavy to share with other people around you and as a result, you might like to share them with the people on mylot because most of them don't know you in real and even if it is so private and special people wouldn't be able to use it againist you (personally) most of the time.
However, these things should be kept safe and secure. One of the most important sub-headings of this issue could be privacy. Your privacy is important and as it says in the guidelines while they are working hard to keep your privacy, you shouldn't at least give it to everyone. Otherwise, it can be used by bad people and you can really regret than more than anything. It is why you shouldn't also choose a nickname which also could make you recognizable by others in real life. As most of the people already know, if someone just googles your nickname they can find many information about you and mylot would be one of the best sources for them. To avoid this kind of situations, we all should take privacy more seriously.

4. carlaabt (3164) | 2 years ago | Sometimes I probably do share too much on mylot. But that doesn't really bother me. I'm pretty open about most things. If there is a chance that someone's feelings might get hurt, I don't use their names, even if I know that the chance of them ever finding out are really small.
