Do you go to the bus stop with your child?  | |  my son is 7 so i am at the bus stop everyday. it amazes me though how few parents are actually present at the bus stop and have very young children. it infuriates me when a child that is too young to be left alone in any other situation is left at the bus stop unsupervised and whatever adults are there (like me for instance) wind up having to monitor what goes on. there are a pair of brothers who physically fight with each other and the mother is well aware of it yet she is never at the bus stop. myself and some other adult had to literally pull them off of each other one day because one was trying to choke the other. i cannot stand by and just watch something like that just because it is not my kid. it also irks me to see a young child walking home from the bus stop alone. there are so many whackos out there! i am always looking out for other children.

I also look out for the other kids too and make sure someone is there to meet them - no kindergarteners are allowed to get off the bus without their parents or someone meeting them at the bus stop. If they are not there, they are taken back to the school and parents phoned.
I also make sure two sisters who live in our building get home safely as well. Both parents work and they have asked if I can walk them home daily, which is fine with me.
In the mornings ALL parents are there with their children and most of them are also there after school.
