With gas prices so high, what are your plans this summer?

A month ago, I had to drive 120 a week to and from to get the children to school. I nearly cried when the price of gas was $3.17. But, just today I went to the gas station and hacked up a lung (expression of speech) to pay $3.75! My word, the price of gas is incredible!
Rather than go into a discussion as to why the price of gas is so dang high, how about this:
Since the price of gas is so dang high, what are your plans for the summer? Are you going to penny pinch it and stay close to home thus forcing yourself to come up with some creative solutions to end the summer boredom or you going to say, "There is no gas shortage!" and drive from Alaska all the way to Florida without a care in the world?
Me? I wasplanning on taking the children to the beach, but no can do. I'll have to wait until next year and go then.

Well, good luck with getting that cyst out. You'll have your cyst and I'll have my lungs taken out this summer...wonderful!
On a serious note, take it easy and do what your doctor tells you. Perhaps we'll send you some pictures of our home towne so it will feel as if you've taken a vacation...sounds good?

Well, I will be better in about three weeks, so I think I will just probably go to the beach afterwards.

Just this next weekend we are going to see a friend who is throwing a bit of a party and camp out in honor of his youngest daughter graduating.. so we are driving up north, but I hate to spend all the money for gas.. unfortunately, with credit cards, we can do it.. Hopefully there won't be any more long trips though.. and over the summer we ride hubby's bike a lot.. The weather was nice for a trip already so took the bike and that was great!

We really didn't have any set plans in place for this summer. If we do decide to do anything, the cost of gas will not stop the trip.

I'll be conservative while I am around here and save up for my vacations....I actually got my ticket for my tuesday flight to Arizona before the prices got too high....so that is a good thing. But when I get back I'll be saving gas money for Sept when I go with my son's family to a cabin up north.
