Are you a business owner for an inhome daycare?  | |  Are you a business owner for an inhome daycare? I work in a nursing home and do nights and so does my fellow imployee. One nightshift we were talking about starting a new home daycare because we are sick of the workplace we are at now. Getting pushed around by the staff and things constantly changing.
We are finding it that whenever our to-do list shortens, it seems long all over again with so many things to do.
Right now I"m waiting for forms to be sent in the mail but that will take a couple days. We are trying to get funding, grants, or loans in order to eventually move the business from her house to leasing a building to have our business there instead.
Do you have your own daycare? Is it inhome or at a building? I need some help here as I'm stuck with what to do next~

| | | | | | | | 1.  jungletime (140) | 2 years ago |  I have a daycare in my home. My best advice to you right now would be not to plan on quitting your night job for a while. It will take a while to fill your spots, especially as a new provider. Once word of mouth gets going its a little easier. I've never applied for grants or loans, so I don't know about that. I do know that the lisencing process is a little bit of a hassel and takes awhile-and if the people in your state department are as lazy (or short handed as they say) as the ones here in NH are-it will be frustrating, but thats your next hurdle.  nixxi76 (925) | 2 years ago | We're not planning on quitting our jobs right now because that would be just plain silly. We want to see how much of a turnout we will have due to the shortage of childcare we are having here.
I'm hoping that things work out and I"m learning to take critism much better then I did. I'm learning a lot and now I'm wishing I took a business course of some sort. Maybe I can still look into that so I"m not walking into this so naive.
