Just listening is not enough

I'm told i'm a very good listener.
On one hand some people just need a listener to vent their troubles to without needing even a response, let alone advice.
Others do require the advice and retention of info and i can manage that too:)

I can say i am a very good listener and also a very good forgetter..LOL..people tell me jokes and i forget them right away even though i still have an idea what the joke is about, for some reason i can't remember word for word to repeat it..LOL

you are right we should concentrate whenever we listen to somebody only listening is not enough we should observe all

otherwise there is not meaning to only listen things that is just waste of time

It is enough to be a good listener and do not retain. There are times persons will come with their problems and just need someone to talk with. This does not means that you have to retain what that person says. They just see you has a pleasant person and have a problem that they cannot solved.

So you see a good listener does not have to retain everything he/she hears.

hmm, I don't know, if I am good listener, but all I know if my friends needed a listener to their problems or anything, they can lend my ear anytime. Give an advice here and there or I can also listened to their jokes.:D Sometimes like you I also forget what they said to me especially if I think it wasn't important, just shallow topics they tell me or something. lol, XD But at least I listened to them for a while. XD
