I am half moved  

I found myself earlier today wondering where you were. Glad to hear all is well. To answer one of your questions, I've never scared off a neighbor the first day I moved in, but one time when I moved into a place, the first night I was there the house next door burned down. It ended up being arson, and a couple people were saying that I had done it cause I didn't want any neighbors (no one lived on the other side). I guess the idiots never thought that if I didn't want neighbors I'd have moved into the country-which I did about a year later.

I don't remember whether it was from here or someplace else, but I knew why you disappeared. Now you know who it was that started the rumor about you walking from one state to another carrying your house on your shoulder whistling a happy tune.

And now, to answer your questions...yes, yes, and yes.
Just about every time I've moved (which I have lost count of) there was some catastrophic failure or outburst of some sort. When we were leaving the mountain house we almost lost my brother's van over the edge. Moving to the mountain house, we almost lost my fiances car on the highway(we were towing it and the tow bar broke in the middle of a construction zone). Moving for us is NEVER pleasant!

I knew I had not seen you in awhile. I am glad to hear that you have gotten about half of your stuff moved. I remember when I was a kid my parents got a new mattress. It was a pillow top one so you could not bend it at all. They were trying to get it upstairs to their room, but it would not fit up the stairs. They actually ended up having to take out a few of the stairs so that they could get the mattress up.

LOL! Oh no! I am sorry to hear that it has been such a pain for you but, you gave me a giggle and, you actually provided some potentially useful knowledge should I ever be in the same predicament where I can't get a piece of furniture through my door, now I know that a window has potential. LOL! Very crafty!

The only nerve wracking experience I have had was when the hubby and I moved from NY (him) and Ohio (me) to Georgia to live together. We had a U-Haul and my cat and we were moving all of our belongings to our new apartment and we were chased by tornadoes. We didn't see any but, we were pelted by hail and torrential rain, wind, green and black skies and, the radio told us over and over again where each tornado had hit and, we pretty much kept being within 10 minutes or less of having been hit by them. It was one of the worst storm systems and made history. It was terrifying and we couldn't have been happier to get to our apartment. This was 10 years ago. What a way to make an entrance into our new lives together. LOL!

I have never scared off a neighbor...yet! And, I am sure you didn't scare off your new neighbor. You may have actually created a bond with them that will only grow stronger!

I'm glad to hear you are half moved in and I was beginning ot worry about you wondering if you were ok, and not banned.

I hate movin, believe me I hate moving because you end up trying to find stuff in boxes, not have the right food, or plates or pans etc etc.

Fortunately you can get things cheap if you need to, but still movin is a pain in the a@@,

You've missed all the fun the past few days and most of the fun has been removed.

OMG--I'm envisioning you getting that couch in through the window...and I must say what a way to go in making a first impression in your new neighborhood...LOL...
Nope can't say I've ever had to have something moved in here at my place through the window..the closest I can get to that is I had to move ME through a window. One time I forgot my keys when I left my apt. Thankfully the neighbors next to me were home and allowed me to crawl out of their window, go on the firescape to get to my window which thankfully wasn't locked...was none to keen about it...yes, I'm only on the second floor so not all that high up....it's not like I'm talking about ten or more flights up, but still to walk out on the firescape was NOT fun

I was wondering where you are. Glad that you are still with us. Well I remembering scaring one of my neighbours. We were having trouble taking off something from the truck and she was just standing there staring. I gave her the finger. lol

Hi there Zu, I forgot that you were moving. I know I haven't seen you here, but then again I haven't been here either ... just in spurts, because I have had 2 projects amounting to 70 articles. My deadline is Monday. I've been paid for 2 batches, but the last 50 are one batch.. so I can't get paid until after Monday when I turn them in... so until then I am still burning a lot of midnight oil so to speak and not able to be here.

I had a couch that would not fit through a door once. The stupid movers instedad of taking the legs off insisted on bringing it in anyway and bashed a big hole in the wall!
I should have sued them. Though i'm sure they would have said I should have measured first.
