Bathing you dog  

We generally bathe our inside dog twice a week (unless she gets into something and needs an extra). The outside dog gets a bath when the weather is warm or she stinks so bad that i let the kids bring her into the house to bathe her. We use dog shampoo so i would think that it should be okay for their fur regardless of how many times they get a bath.

i bathe my dog trice a week! i dont know if its bad or good but really wanted my dog to be clean and undirty looking!

Bathing too much time within a week can really hurt their skin,
especially with shampoo.

My mom usually bathes our two chihuahuas like once or twice a month,even though one of them hates getting a bath,and I dont think that shampooing them hurts their hair,aslong as you use dog shampoo.

We are not supposed to bathe the dog often.. May be once in a month .. is enough. Or if and only if he is smelling.. If ge announces himself without even entering your room then he needs a bath. Too much of bathing your pets dries their coat out.
Those dogs with smooth coats need not need frequent bathing. You can just brush him nicely and leave him. He will nice.
Ours is a Dalmatian. We will bathe her only when we feel she smells or greasy or sticky, that is only if there is a problem.. Otherwise we do not bathe her regularly. She is a very neat dog, always smells her nice doggy smell.

i have a shih tzu before...unfortunately she died just last nov because of loneliness they say..i am working abroad now and i left her with my mother...after a month of not seeing me..she died.i miss her terribly specially now...thinking i will never see her again makes me really sad...oh well,,,back to the topic before i go to tears! i use to bathe her every other week.

I bathe my black lab abd basset every second week on Fridays. I would bathe them more, but it seems to take the important oils out of their fur and I don't think it's good for them. (Better fur/better skin condition, I feel.)
But when I do bathe them , I use a flea and tick shampoo, so we never have problems wiht those..and for mosquitos, I Do keep them on a good heartworm prevention pill.-Interceptor, it's called. (Once a month.)
And when I bather them I pay special attention to their ers. It's humid here in Florida and dogs can get ear infections easily, so if they do get them, their ears are alwasy clean and I know right away.

I probably give mine a bath once every two months or so. More often if it's needed but it's usually not. Bathing dogs too often can dry out their skin and cause skin problems so that's why I don't do it more often.
