I'm not trading my car in, but I am looking for a bike myself. I had bikes before and remember how great the mileage is. Because of this a lot of folks are looking for bikes which has driven the price of them up so it may not be as economical as he thinks. Then there is insurance, registration fees, the cost of getting licensed and buying the right gear. I like bikes. I started riding when I was quite young, but sold my last bike when I had my daughter because I thought it was the responsible thing to do. Now my outlook has changed and I miss riding so I'm in the market for a bike.

I would caution new riders who just want to save on gas to take a motorcycle safety course. Bikes can be dangerous, especially in the hands of an inexperienced rider. One has to drive more defensively than when in a car because people driving cars tend to not see bikers. One should also wear right the right protection (good helmet, boots, leather) when riding. It's not a decision to be taken lightly.

When you compared to the Petrol and the Diesel prices, the gas is very economical at this point of time,

As of now, none of the company has introduced teh Two wheeler which has been run in the Gas, so, its always better to use the Gas Car, when you comparred to the Petrol operated Motor cycle (Two wheeler)

Because in india, if you use the Gas operated Car, this will cost around Rs. 0.50/- per kilometres, but if you use the Petrol operated Two wheeler this will cost (even if you use to high kilometre providing Two wheeler) around Rs.0.85/-

In this case, you can travel in the Gas operated Car, with your family, without affecting the outside moisture., when comparred to travel in the motorcycle, only two, with the full of dust in the traffic area.. and also low risk.

The ultimate question "why can't gas just be cheaper"?? We all only wish. My husband has wanted a motorcycle for a long time. but I agree with you I think they are way to dangerous. I told him maybe when the kids get older and move out, but not now.

Gas is going up and will continue till the end of the oil fields. what can we do about it. Get a car that has alterntive fuel capabilites. Like diesels. they can run off of veggie oil. the kit is a bit expensive and can be quite time consuming. I sudjest you do you research before buying your diesel. The motorcycle thing I have one its great. great gas mileage, cheap insurance, cheap registration everything is cheap about them execpt the price of the fall. if you hubbie get hit or falls on the bike even doing like 10 miles an hours he could be killed or even worse paraliezed for life, yep a veggie. is that worth the cost that he would of saved? Of course not. Will your hubbie get in to an accident? More then likely yes I have been not fun. all in all if he drives safe, has the right gear and prays lot he will probably be fine. Keep in mind there are alterntives.:)

Car maintenance is very expensive. Gasoline consumption, monthly machine-oil, you named it. But there's a solution, you don't have to sell your car, since you will lose from the sale price. Get a new bike, then you have two alternatives. If it's not very important or nearby route, use the bike or walk.

Gas cannot be cheaper, it won't be happened. Since it's not a substitution commodity until now. Unless we have the hover tech as the change, we may reduce the cost of gasoline needs in the future. But the price hardly will be decreased, many sectors in life had depended on this liquid-gold.
