IPL Cricket - Great & New Players

There are many great talents unraveled in the IPL but I don't think all of them have the temperament to last the longer versions of the game.

As pointed out by you Yousuf Pathan, Gony, Shikhar, amit, Ojha, Goswami have been the find for India.but I think you have missed out on another prominent name which is Ravindra Jadeja. I was really shocked that the under 19 talent of the tournament was Shrivats Goswami and not Jadeja. Jadeja not only proved his worth with bat and ball but also was a splendid fielder throughout the tournament. No wonder Goswami is a brilliant Wicket-keeper, but I don't think his short presence in the field gave ample evidence of his merit to be the find of the tournament. Where as Ravindra Jadeja was also involved in a crunch match which he won for Rajasthan with the help of N Patel.

Gony has been a great find. He does the basics right and doesn't experiment too much with his ability. His height is an advantage and will be very effective on bouncy tracks. But as far as batsmen are concerned I still feel that we need to test them some more before judging them to be great batsmen. most of the batsmen were not even moving their feet and just swinging the bat at whatever was bowled at them. The boundary ropes pulled in by meters was helping their cause of hitting the ball over the rope. I really do wonder what would these batsmen do when they find big boundaries and green top pitches to counter.

For the foreigners in the tournament I think Shane Watson has really put a good show and earned himself an outside chance of making a return to the Australian playing 11. Shaun Marsh is another fellow who has stamped his authority.
