We have done this once or twice, & had to keep it outside as it got really rank. Get some baking soda & sprinkle in cans, this will help keep the smell down...Lori

The first and last choice is to make a point to remember in time, 'whatever has to be done'. Earlier my DIL used to write even availibility of items inside compartments of Refrigerator. I regret to bring to your knowledge this basic clue. Next, while going to office, carry in your car and dispose it off at suitable place, lastly wit for the next time, but is there any way to get rid off forgetting. Just think from this old friend. have a nice time.

I do that all the time, days seem to be going so quickly I just get the days mixed up sometimes, I really is awful and I have never known what to do although luckily I haven't had that much rubbish at the time...I can just see you running down the street after the garbage truck in your slippers...

Thats one of the reasons i love my area. We have a rule that you cant put your can out. So the garbage man has to come get it from where I keep it. So nice cause I never forget to put the trash out.

Hi Katesmama! Oh that's too bad! It is a good thing that garbage collectors here in our neighborhood knock on our gate since all our trash are not put outside. The garbage collectors here honk their truck horn so that people will know that it is time for them to open our gates and put our trash out.

We keep our trash cans at the curb side all of the time. We have this little corral thing for them. Our trash men just come whenever they feel like it I think. Sometimes it's Monday, sometimes Tuesday, and sometimes not until Wednesday. It's not related to holidays either!

I feel sorry for the people who don't have a corral for their trash cans. Sometimes they get knocked over and make messes out by the curb, and then they have to clean it up!

Well, its better option and sure now u have to pay for private dumster and i am sure after that u r not going to miss it soon

well kidding aside, things happen and u have to mark ur calender about these days or put reminder in ur PC

Hmmm i have done that,or more i put out wrong bin.
Then when i say it had not been emptied i called council,put out correct bin for that week & they came & emptied it.
They were not happy.

Been there and done that. The first time I was amazed. I realized that I had forgotten when I was at the gym. So I rushed home only to find that the trash man had come up in my car port and got the trash and taken it down to the curb and disposed of it. There are certainly advantages to living out here in God's country. You probably wouldn't have been to popular with the neighbors had you left it until the next pick up. So under the circumstances I think you did ok. Of course the person who owned the trash bin you put it in might not agree.
