kickboxing for 3 yr olds?

I think that classes for young children are fine as long as the child is enjoying them. MY only concern would be with the parents that enroll their children in a bunch of different classes at a time. That can make a child's schedule a little hectic and I don't think that is good for them. My son is 8 and I have been thinking about getting him involved in Teo Kown Do. My brother has taken a few of those classes and he was trying to teach my son a few moves.

My husband said it should be alright. He trained a little in Tai Kwon Do and he has no objection to our sons doing it. If the class is specified for his age then I don't see much of a problem. In most self defense classes its not just teaching how to fight, but most importantly self discipline, which is a defining aspect of those martial arts classes. For young children, they probably keep it fairly simple. You just need to be there when he takes the classes and discuss what he learned in the class, make sure he knows not to use those moves on anyone else unless they are trying to hurt him. Things like that. It shouldn't be too much of a problem.

I think they should have some classes but not too many. My 4 yr old goes for robotics classes now once a week and he simply loves building those robots and dinosaurs that climb up stairs. They use lego to build them and my sons looks forward to each class.
