What type of candles do you like? |
|
I think almost every female loves scented candles, right? I do! Do you use a particular type? I mean do you go for soy wax, palm wax, beeswax or do you settle for regular paraffin wax? Why do you choose that particular type? Have you experimented with other types?

1. Irishfrndly65 (7345) | 2 years ago | I haven't really experimented much. I LOVE the true scents of the Yankee Candles, and am partial to berries or melons. Is one better than another? I like one that realy smells like what it says it is. I have a VERY sensitive nose. LOL! My husband once said, "you have a dogs nose...oh...I mean that in a GOOD way!" LOL! He's such a nut.

primalmom (505) | 2 years ago | LOL! I love true scents too but I find that many of Yankee Candle scents are anything BUT the true scent (but that applies to m ost chemical company scents.. if it's says "lavender" it never is LOL)
I prefer soy candles due to the fact that they're healthier and earth-friendly. I like knowing that when I burn my candles, I'm not giving me or my kids cancer. Ya know? But I do love true scents and Yankee Candles sometimes do have those..but I can't make myself by them LOL

3. TheDevil (612) | 2 years ago | I love scented candles,My favourite is vanilla .I have no choice i have to settled for paraffin wax candles, although i would love to try soy wax but soy wax candles are not available here. And beeswax candles are way too expensive it cost around 10-15 $ per candles....

|
primalmom (505) | 2 years ago | Wow. Where are you located? I get all the soy candles at wholesale through my business of course. But I can get beeswax candles at the grocery store for like $8.

primalmom (505) | 2 years ago | Yes, paraffin is less expensive. It also leaves soot on your walls and lungs. They don't burn evenly and you end up with wax left after the wick is gone. I dunno.. bad deal all the way around IMO.
I'm with you.. I love candle warmers. I switch up scents according to the weather/season. In the fall, I use scents like cinnamon, mulled apple cider, apple pie, etc. In the winter, I like coffee, cappacino, clove and burning embers type scents. In the spring I burn florals and summer I burn fruits LOL
Yep I'm neurotic

primalmom (505) | 2 years ago | LOL you're funny! Fortunately, I get them wholesale because I sell them on my internet-based shop. I know a girl who makes them and she makes them for my store:-)

|
|
primalmom (505) | 2 years ago | Ugh! Didn't finish what I was saying! Anyway-- you can usually find them in shops in downtown areas. At least that's the case around here anyway. I even saw them at the grocery store yesterday--how weird is that.

5. momalisa65 (993) | 2 years ago | I love the Yankee brand candles. I think they are just regular paraffin candles. I particularly love the scent called "Home Sweet Home" and the Cinnamon. I only use them in the fall and winter to make it cozy. If they had those scents in Soy I would buy those instead.

primalmom (505) | 2 years ago | ha! Don't say that because you know I'll wrangle you into my store!! LOL Speaking of which.. I have a whole new list of scents I need to add to the store. Grrrr. I hate updating my sites.

|
momalisa65 (993) | 2 years ago | I forgot about your store, Lol. Do your candles smell strong and last long?
| |
|
|
primalmom (505) | 1 year ago | Ok I'll give you my experiences with them.:-)
1. The first one I had was a 16oz. I burned it 8 hours at a pop by accident (don't ask) every day for 3 months. Add that up LOL! Ok I will. That's approximately 720 hours.
2. I have some 8oz "jelly jars" that I purchased in Sept 2006. They're what I consider "autumn" scents so I burn them only in cooler weather.. so 0ctober-February 2006-2007 and then again this past fall/winter. I burn them maybe 2-3 hours per day for those 4 months (so that has been 8 months of usage so far.. or approximately 360 hours. They're still not empty.. they're about 1/2 empty (or half full?):-)
On my site, I list the burn times, but I list it as the candle maker states. In reality they last much longer for me. As for scent? Yes! Very scented.. those fall candles I mentioned: I burn 2-3 hours and the scent lasts all day (until I cook dinner and that scent fills the air LOL)
Also, my daughter had 4 rose scented votives, she received the package, sat them on her dresser and we left the house. When we returned, my entire 3000 sq ft house was filled with the scent of roses! After the candles had burned out, she kept little flakes of them in a metal jar top on her dresser. For the next year and a half, her room smelled like roses from those little shavings!

momalisa65 (993) | 1 year ago | Wow! They sound great! I'll have to try to find your site again. Or if you want to PM it to me...I'll check it out when I get back from my trip tomorrow. I'm going to visit my birthmother for the day, (wednesday). Thanks!

primalmom (505) | 2 years ago | I do love vanilla! I have one in my bathroom that is Jasmine-Vanilla. Very light scent but not so light that one cannot smell it. But not overpowering ya know?

primalmom (505) | 2 years ago | Wow that's such a different experience for me. I had a 16oz candle from my shop that I burned 8 hours per day for 4 months before it was gone. I have a 8oz "jelly jar" candle that I started using in Sept 2006. I use it 2-3 hours per day all fall and winter. That little candle scents my entire house and now it's spring 2008 and it's still got a good 2oz in it. I've never had a paraffin candle do that at all.

9. welikemoney (264) | 1 year ago | I don't really have a particular type as far as ingredient...but I love PartyLite candles, they have a scent that lingers loner than even Yankee, which is also pretty good. I'm a fruity scent kind of gal, so my house is full of citrus and fruit smells!

10. liquorice (1736) | 1 year ago | I love all candles, even just the basic tea-light ones. Some of the scented ones I find a bit over-powering, and artificial; these also tend to be the ones that come in all sorts of bright colours and so aren't too relaxing overall! I love beeswax candles, although I don't see those too often. And I also love smells like cinnamon and other spices.
