June 14 is Flag day  

nope mooch not a darned thing. I remember in grade school
we used to always do something on Flag day but not here
in Southern California. I would love to be able to
be inBaltimore on Flag Day. it would be a lot of fun
for me.It would really be nice to celebrate Flag day
with festivities and some history too.

Actually it's our anniversary but my husband will be out of town. This is about the 3rd or 4th year he's been gone on our anniversary. Right now I have no plans but that could change. One of our kids is working but the other is not. She might want to join me for dinner. I will make the most of it but also will recall the many years ago we were married.

No I dont think this town is doing anything for flag day
I know they do this big thing for the 4th of July
I have a flag but I dont have a bracket thing to hang it on
that is one of the thing on my list of things to buy for the house

I believe that our Kiwanis put out the flags all over town, where people have volunteered to allow a flag holder. It gets really awesome looking for certain sections of town. It is a small town, and I think we do pretty well for all patriotic holidays, Veteran's Day, Memorial Day, Flag Day and Independence Day. I have one friend who celebrates "Flag Month" flying their flag daily from Memorial Day to Independence Day.

Well mooch we obviously don't have flag day here but it sure sounds like fun and I hope you can get there and enjoy it!
I love re-enactments and we have one just along the road from me every year to commemorate the Battle of Bannockburn where we Scots beat the English in 1314 and that is what the song Flower of Scotland is based on! I've attached a photo from a few years ago of one of the re-enactors dressed as Robert the Bruce who led the Scots into battle! xxx

My small town on the Gulf of Mexico goes all out in celebration of all national holidays, Mooch.

Throughout the year you can see billboards, placards and mobile signs reading, "We support our troops," "Bring our troops home," etc., accompanied by the American flag.

I put my flag out front the weekend before Memorial Day and I fly it through July 4 or the weekend following it. I don't subscribe to the theory that a flag should not be flown in inclement weather. In the summer, it rains every day here in Florida. I have lights in the landscaping so the flag never flies in darkness.

We normally have fireworks on the river, but last year it was canceled due to funding the first time that I can ever remember. I have not heard yet if they are having them or not. I hope they are. I find it romantic for me and my husband to go sit on the levee and watch the fireworks.
