1. SusanLee (1052) | 1 year ago | We have them here in south Georgia, USA. And they are nasty little critters.
They can live on anything including paper. I don't think we can ever have things clean enough that they won't make an appearance.
I don't get them in my house very often, but at night I can go out on the porch, flip on the light and they're everywhere. I know they're in my ceilings because their droppings will fall through the ceiling joints. I have to fix that but can't until the house is releveled.
Only thing we can do is keep the house sprayed and hope for the best. They just come with the territory.

2. Zergonipal (627) | 1 year ago | I had a neighbour that made from his house a garbage. He had cockroaches that spreaded to mine house too. Luckily I had dealed with them. I can say that there is only one solution... kill, kill and one more time kill those little devils. If you want to kill it instantly hit the abdomen, couse they can live without head for something like 7 days until they die from hunger. Leave nothing unclosed, no organic objects. They can eat even toothpaste, nails or EVEN they can lick off your fingerprints from the glasses. I was killing them all the time, day and even at night. After 2 months they just all vanished. Use plenty of traps too, but be carefull to not poison yourself or your family. If everything will fail then you should call for bug-specialist of some sort and spray your house.

3. naseeha (905) | 1 year ago | Hi yes cockroaches are very troublesome and they live everywhere. They are nocturnal that is they look for food only during the night. They sleep during the daytime. Here in tamilnadu we get these chalks with which if we draw lines around the places where there are bound to be a lot of cockroaches. When the roaches cross these lines they die. And if you draw these lines tonight the next morning you will see a lot of dead cockroaches which you can sweep away. This is a very effective method here

4. kun2349 (7249) | 1 year ago | I do even have a 'cockroach house' right inside my house.. But luckily for me, they only appear during the night as in after 2am till 6am, after which they will go back to their 'house'.. Normally when i spot them, they are in the kitchen around as that's y their house is based.. It's hard to eradicate them as they have been around for millions of years:(

5. sminut13 (885) | 1 year ago | as many have said, they really are a problem and it's the same for me as well. but i notice that i tend to see a lot more especially at night and usually in the kitchen area in my house. thus, at night, i usually switch off the kitchen light if it's not in use. so i go to the kitchen and switch on the light and i see tons of small cockroaches about. it's at this time, that i make the most of killing them. it also helps as well to keep the kitchen clean though it's not a permanent solution. right now, it's been a few days and i noticed that the number of cockroaches has reduced. but they'll definitely come back again. like someone said, it's hard to eradicate something that's been around for so long. hehe also, no matter how clean our house is, if our neighbours's houses are dirty, then there's the likely chance that their cockroaches might come over to ours for sleepovers. hehe

8. mclendon (240) | 1 year ago | Boric acid! That's probably the "chalk" someone is referring to. Roaches will eat boric acid and it is a cheap and common substance. In the U.S. you can get it at Home Depot. Roaches eat it and carry some back to their nests. It causes death by dehydration. Most poisons that are sprayed require that the adult roaches walk over it in order for it to kill them. And you may have heard the old saying, "What doesn't kill me will make me stronger"? Same applies to roaches. They can develop a resistance if the poison doesn't kill them and can pass resistance on to their offspring. Boric acid kills adults and larvae quickly. Some people make it even more attractive to the roaches by mixing it with flour and water to make little bread balls that they place under cabinets, near drains, vents, etc. Just make sure children and pets can't get them.

But, when I was still single my sister and I use to spray it with baygon the entire place like bathroom and closet, the apartment we were renting before has so much cockroaches that are flying every now and then, sometimes I will find myself bringing our broom and chasing them. I hate it and they are very dirty indeed!
