You express a nice sentiment, but unfortunately it is not reality. The liberal left (totally rooted in communism and socialism) does not compromise. They do not reach across the aisle. Unfortunately Republicans have done that and now they have lost their way.

Parated2k is absolutely right that environmentalism in all its forms is a liberalism camp and is not about saving the planet.

Americans are still very sleepy on these issues.

I don't use the symbol because I like it, I use the symbol because those who do love the symbol are still working against the freedom of mankind.

They would put us in concentration camps under the lie of "saving the planet".

You can't think that you will be considered as someone who want to do something good if you are using such symbol. This is major mistake and it doesn't count that it is green now. It will always be red. That what I think about it. Personally I would rather bite my tongue hard than give my voice in elections for anyone that would use it.

Well, your quotes are all from Communist and Socialist sites, not from the Liberal or Green Party people who you claim are allying themselves with 'totalitarianism'. If one goes by what you quote, then you have turned your argument on its head because what you apparently mean is that the Left Wing elements are siding with the 'Greenies' ... not the other way round.

The fact is that the rest of the world perceive that the United States is dragging its feet badly on this issue by not signing the Kyoto agreement. I am glad to say, in mitigation, that there is an increase in public awareness in the US (more so in some States than others) that, individually and collectively, conserving energy and reducing our 'carbon footprint' is desirable.

I'm sorry if your political persuasion means that you automatically discount green issues simply because the more Liberal and Left Wing elements have been quicker to recognise the urgency of addressing global warming. The winds of change are blowing and those who, like you, persist in burying their heads in the sand simply because they don't agree with the politics of the parties who are sounding the warning will very soon find themselves left behind in the desert.

And I'm sorry that your political blindness makes you defend stupidity like the Kyoto treaty and other measures that won't do crap for the environment.

Kyoto is just another example of how pro-totalitarian, anti freedom hacks (such as yourself) are insisting our government officials take away our rights.

There is no reason for ANY nation to sign Kyoto stupidity as long as the biggest polluting countries are exempt.
