Salted apples?????

Yup.. I sometimes put a little salt on my apples especially if I'm eating green apples. Yum yum. It somehow neutralizes the tartness of the apple and also enhances the sweetness as well. Heheh.

O I never heard about that but I would be curious to try it.

Heyya book! I've never seen the apple salted but my granfather used to salt his watermelon. I personally don't salt fruit but when I questioned him,he said it made it sweeter. I didn't like salt as a child but over time I aquired a taste for it and now I like a dash here and there. It definately has it's downfalls but I think a little used in moderation is ok.

Goodness. What alot of things people add salt to for flavour! Most of which I would never have thought of doing!
I have never really added salt to may foods for flavour as I am not a fan of salty things. But out of curiosity I may try a few of these ideas just so I can see wether I like it or not.

I don't know if I have responded to this before so please I do apologize if by chance I have. I know it's very easy to accidentally re respond to something. I myself have never salted an apple as I think that it would not taste good. However, I have salted raw potatoes to make them more scrumptious, the same goes for peppering potatoes. I've used peanut butter with apples before though!

its absolutely delicious that way. lots of us put salt on fruits. watermelon is yummy that way also. we must be a terribley eating bad lot here.

i've never heard of that before...i like apples a lot and i can't even imagine putting salt on the apple being good, but hey! to each his own right?

It's just a matter of taste. I don't put salt on my apple. I have never heard of anyone doing that and I am in the US.

I don't put salt in my apples but I've tried other stuff with it:P I don't really know the english name of the Filipino sauce that we have so I just won't mention it. Doesn't sound like it's healthier when you alter a fruit, they're usually in their healthiest form when fresh:)

People use a little salt of the pieces of apple to change the taste of them. But in our country we have tradition to cook the apples. A fruit we call Battang in our regional language and we also call it Peshawari Apples. we eat them after cooking with beef and such other eating stuff.
