Salted apples?????

hi, here in our country,most of us here eat apples as it is.we dont sprinkle salt when eating it..but we have some fruits here that we eat and dipp in salt like pineapple,guava,green mango,watermelon.

if anyone sprinkles salt on apple, we can get different taste and nutritional value will also differ, as with salt we can get bp, so it is better for us to avoid salt on apple.

I do nto eat salt on my apples or any other fruit.My husband puts salt on his apples,watermelon,ect...I think should be sweet not salty tasting...My husband said the reason he does it is because the salt mixes with the sweet and it taste better....

I personally have never done that. I think the salt would bring out the sweet, but also add a salty flavor. It might be interesting but I don't think I would do it. You are right salt is not really good for us. So I can not see putting it on a nice sweet healthy apple. But to each their own.

I've never heard of this one. I would not have thought to put salt on apples at all. I do put a little salt in the coffee3 machine when making freshly ground coffee - it really helps to bring put the taste. And I always put some mustard into the cheese sauce when making a macaroni cheese but I have never put salt on apples.

Hi book, this is certainly a new one to me, I have never heard of anyone putting salt on apples before unless they are part of a savoury dish such as pork cooked with apples. Here chopped apples are often brought to the table at the end of a meal in the taverna's but they are sprinkled with cinnamon which goes really well with the apples. I know I use too much salt but so love the taste but you haven't persuaded me to try it on fruit.

Hello too much of salt is surely bad, i think same is true for any thing, while eating apple i do sprinkle a little black salt, the taste is great my friend, give this a try, keep sharing nice discussions

In my country likes to use some salt mixing when eating some fruits as pine apple and grava.I like to eat that but i never eat some salt with apples.

I prefer, is made into apple juice. I never eat apples with salt spray.
