And you know, inmates are there. What will you do? Will get frustrated and go away? Or stay there some time and keep trying? Many people, myself included, cannot be sure that it was their doorbell when it is rung only once. If I'm absolutely certain that there is an adult there, after ringing the bell and waiting twice, I would knock loudly on the door, or pull out my cell phone and call their phone. Their doorbell may be broken, or they may be engaged in a noisy activity. Since many children are trained to not answer the door if they are home alone, If there is any case that is the case, I would come back another time after the first try.
