i do think that there are any restrictions on that part . you can add any image at any place. whether discussion or response and even in a comment.
well as far as i can remember i was able to add image even if i were not beyond the 500 post park.

Hi, I don't have 500 posts and I'm able to post images. You have to have a Rating of 500, don't ask me what that is, I don't have a clue.

At the bottom of the page is a FAQs, it will be able to explain things for you I hope. I still have trouble sifting through all the information here. But I'll get it little by little. Good luck

It's after some posts, but I don't know if it's 500 or 1000 or anything. When you are starting discussion you have this option too. Cheers and happy myloting.

There are two cases.One is while starting discussions.And another is while responding and commenting.

#In the first case,you can add an image to your discussion with out any restrictions on it.Just click the add image to add the image to a discussion of yours.

#In the second case,you can add images to responses and comments only if you have crossed the 500 mark.Also,there are lot more benefits if you cross 500.You can also copy and paste.

And another tip:-

After crossing 100 posts,you will get the mylot reputation star.
