One Of The Reasons Why We Have Guns In Texas!   

There are three types of venomous snakes native to KY, but I have never seen one. We live in a very residential area. All I get to see are garden snakes, lol. They are harmless but still give me the creeps.

I'm not pro-gun as in carrying them around all the time, but you guys seem to keep them in a very safe place. Important when there are little ones around anyway;)

I despise snakes and everyone whom I know knows it.

I would have done just what your husband did and what you intend to do. They have no place in my world, in my pool OR in my home.

Let's just say you are safe from ever seeing us at your house. I'm cool with snakes. But bugs do me in.

I don't even know if we have poisonous snakes around here, but that's not why we carry guns here in PA! Where I live, we keep them for the groundhogs and raccoons that get into the garbage sitting outside waiting for the garbage men to pick it up! Well, that and we're all rednecks and guns are a requirement!! LOL! Actually, I don't own a gun, I have bipolar so I'm not allowed to have one, but all of my family owns guns!

There are 6 venomous snakes in my state: Copperheads, Canebrake rattlesnake, Eastern Diamondback rattlesnake, Pygmy rattlesnake, Cottonmouth, and the Eastern Coral snake.

I have never seen a rattler, but I have seen plenty of copperheads and cottonmouths! The last time I saw a copperhead, my Mom ran over it on the riding mower. She saw it right before she hit it and then stood up on the seat! lol I don't blame her one bit. She finally saw that it was in at least 3 pieces, including one that it slung in the neighbor's yard, and came down off the mower seat. lol

I had a huge cottonmouth in my yard last summer. It was really dry here last summer, so I guess it was looking for water. I don't have a gun, but the thing wouldn't leave, so I got in my car and ran over it. It just kept going, though. But at least it went in the other direction!

I am totally terrified of cottonmouths. When I was little, we went to a lake in Alabama. My mother and her sisters were talking about some little boy who was killed in the lake by a cottonmouth. After that, I was too scared to get in the water. In high school, I was helping my biology teacher get out some specimens, when he told me to carry this big jar with a cottonmouth inside. It had it's mouth wide open. I just couldn't do it. He couldn't believe that I wouldn't carry a dead snake in a jar! lol But I couldn't. He sat it on a table right in front of me for spite. Even dead, the thing gave me cold chills.

I've seen a lot more snakes around since we've had a drought. I'm thinking of getting a gun myself. I hate venomous snakes! Nah, I hate snakes, period.

I live in a rural area of south central Florida and we have a canal in our back yard so we not only have snakes, we have gators from time to time. My husband will not hesitate to shoot a snake, or chop it's ugly head off, but we will catch small gators and release them in the river. Right now there's one who is about 7 feet long in there and that tail is ours if we can get him.

im afraid of snakes!!your soo brave ...i guess a machete will do the trick in killing them..what about putting some garlic (lots of)under the house so that the snake will go out or even feel weak smelling the odor of it..its what we use here in our country in order to catch one without endangering ourselves...

in China, citizen should not have guns. in a civilized country, people should not and do not need to have guns. i often hear about gun attacks in America schools. that's terrible.

We don't have venomous snakes in Jamaica.
I have seen an attendant wearing several beautiful yellow snakes around his neck, at the zoo of Hope Botanical Gardens, Kingston , Jamaica, to the great delight and admiration of children.
Mongoose were brought from India to kill out the snakes in the canefields, They did a good job.

It is my first time to hear that people use gun to shot snack.Gun could be American's everyday tool.In China,if I found a snake in my garden,I should call the policemen here to help me to avoid danger and I have no gun to use.Maybe American policemen won't care about these things.
