Planet of the Apes  | | 
I hope somebody sees this soon. I am just itching to get a grip on my most recent viewing (as in right now, albeit tangentially) of Planet of the Apes.
I honestly am having trouble responding emotionally to this. No no - not any philosophical or faux angst - I just don't think I get it.
Is it a satire on human's treatment of animals as spectator specimens to do with as we wish and "marvel" at their sophisticated such and such while we have the arrogance to think that we not only get all of it, but are so far above it as to think it quaint?
Is it a genuine attempt to offer a "what if" plot - and if so, oh GOD and*YAWN*!!!!
Oh well - I'm suprised at my own response to this - and that I haven't scrolled till I found one of the many Law and Order hybrids to which I've been hopelessly addicted.;)

I JUST NOW overheard possibly the best line of the whole flick (so far, anyway!): "Take your filthy hand off me, you damned, dirty ape!"I don't know whether to think it's totally camp and corny, or some cheese-a** "man takes back his 'rightful' place" moment....
You can totally tell by the "music" and what not, that this is of a bygone movie era! No remake here! | |

| stanwshura (254) | 2 years ago | I may have seen it in bits and pieces when I was a kid. My most recent exposure to it was a reference to it in (oh, God, this is rich!) the Simpson's by "TROY McClure!!! You may remember me from such films as...."
It was that same vocal style that perked my ears up and realize that I was hearing the real thing in the background on A&E!
