Daring to go where he's not gone before, George Takei (Sulu of "Star Trek") at age 71 is busily making plans to wed his gay partner of 21 years.

"Sulu" was the first person to pay the $70 fee for a marriage license once the California ruling became law.

Also noted in the pictorial portion of the article, Portia deRossi and Ellen DeGeneres plan to wed next June.
