So how do you upload a picture to your response?

Right beneath the box you type the response in, to the left, there is a blue link that says "add an image". After clicking it you have a browse button, to look for the image on your PC, a box to name the picture, another one to describe it and another to tag it.
I'm afraid you have some more posting to do before you are allowed to upload pictures. I don't know how many posts you need, either 100 either 500 before you are allowed to upload pictures.

You will have these feature when you reach you 500 post. When you response to a discussion there is on the left side and add image text where you can click and upload an image.
It's the same option as when you upload images in your interest area. It is a very good features and it adds more earning to you. So keep on posting so you can reach your 500 post soon and use this features. It's sometimes distracting because instead of you concentrating on posting you have some images to look and upload from your computer.

There are other features that you will encounter as you go along here. Once you reached your 100 post, you'll have your star rating. It's a good way how mylotter perceive your responses. I usually give a + rating. Keep posting and enjoy your stay here. Have a good day!
