I have not been on this site for long but I have observed what you are talking about here and I understand your point. I think that in order for us to know like how to sell things on ebay, you can use this topic to ask members who had the experience of selling something on that site. You can also ask members how they get best referrals on their program. This will help mylot and the members to participate. Good day!

We have had a few threads on "how-to" sell on Etsy. There were tips on promoting, presenting the best images of the item for potential buyers etc.
Put Etsy or Etsy.com in the myLot search bar (you have to click myLot for the search on this site-- there is a catagory for Etsy.com)

As far as eBay, I think it's sort of the same steps. Research eBay finished auctions to see if the item your selling has interested buyers in the past, list your item at a price that you feel comfortable selling it for and charge a fair shipping fee (if you have multiple items, check my profile for a auction tool that promotes all of your listings and makes you money at the same time)
But get your price on eBay, if you really want at least $5 for the item, don't list for .99 and hope you get bids. Ask for $5.00 and see if you get any takers...just my opinion.
You might get more responses placing a thread like this in a different catagory than crafts... but if you're selling handmade crafts, Etsy.com would be your best bet...again, just my 2 cents!
Feel free to ask any questions you might have about Etsy (I'm there almost a year and there's several myLot members that have been on Etsy longer and they have a lot of experience with the Etsy site!
