| |  I love a program called GIMP. It's great for making any kind of image. Many graphic designers use it for detailed and professional looking logos. If you want some really high quality software I would go with PhotoShop. It's kind of expensive, but there is a 30-day trial so you can try it out.
If you're looking for a fast, unprofessional logo, I would suggest cool text. It's an online image generator. I use it when I need to make a simple logo really fast. I use it a lot for making buttons for my webpage. Another thing that cooltext.com is good for is downloading fonts.
They have a huge selection of fonts at cool text, most of which they have custom made. I've downloaded at least 30 different font sets from them, because they are just so useful!

| |  Adobe Photoshop is one of the best program used by majority of graphics and web designer. You can always download a free trial. Just go to adobe.com and join the community.
