Vegans vs Non Vegans |
| |
| Vegetarian verses non vegetarian and what how far should this go. Peta is now taking sides after Jessica Simpson was seen wearing a shirt that said 'Real Girls eat meat' and while it was assumed to be a light dig at her boyfriends ex-girlfriend, Carrie Underwood, I'm not sure that was ever confirmed http://www.independent.co... Peta is saying this: (and I quote) >Alistair Currie, a spokesman for Peta, said: "Jessica Simpson might have a right to wear what she wants, but she doesn't have a right to eat what she wants – eating meat is about suffering and death.< While Peta may launch an attack on Jessica Simpson, I have to say they have no right to tell people what they can and can not eat, and I don't think they have a right to Peta also edited the photo of Jessica Simpson to read that 'Only Stupid Girls eat meat' Umm sorry but unless they took the photo, I don't think they have the right to edit it like that without permission, not to mention, couldn't she go back on peta for them calling her stupid, sounds like PETA maybe crossing the lines (I'm no lawyer this is just my personal feelings) Do you think Peta is right waging an attack on a person or people that are not vegetarians or Vegans, that don't buy into the don't eat meat philosophy? | | I used to be a member of PETA until I decided that, as an organization, they are kinda crazy. I thought they were People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals, not fanactics putting animals next to God. Haven't they heard of nature's food chain? Don't they know the world is full of death and suffering? On this planet teeming with animals and people who need to eat, are the animals all here just to be pets or to be admired? Have they no greater purpose? I'm for treating animals with respect, taking care of them, and using humane slaughtering methods. Trying to tell people what they have the right to eat and going against nature and most of the natural tendencies of mankind is just silly. | | | | | | |

| | I think the best phrase that can be used in this situation is "Only stupid people join PETA". I can't believe anyone would be dumb enough to say "you don't have the right to eat what you want". Typical bleeding heart PETA rhetoric. I think I'm going to go out and eat a nice juicy burger because of it. It's too bad PETA has become a hypocritical organization. Funding eco terrorists while claiming we don't have the right to take lives tends to devalue your beliefs a little. Honestly, PETA should mind it's own business. It is a person's choice to become a vegetarian or vegan, and they have no place telling the rest of society what they can and can't eat or wear. | | | | | | |

| | Peta does ot have the right to tell us what we should and should not eat. My sister is a hard-core vegetarian, won't eat anyting with a backbone, but she cooks meat for her husband. She buys the meat, and she cooks the meat, and he eats the meat. She and he are both absolutely fine with this. | | | | | | |

| | Peta doesn't have a right to tell people what to do, or attack anyone that does eat meat. I'm a vegetarian, but I might just eat meat in front of them to spite them. | | | | | | |

| | i think everybody has a right to make his own choices, and decisions... as long as it is not against the law.. eating meat is not against the law... nor is it a sin.. some may say that we human can get our source of protein from anything else but 'meat'... still.. it is no sin to eat meat... i dont think PETA or anybody has any right to tell anybody that they must not or cannot eat meat... they have every right to their opinions + policies... but certainly have no right to force others to agree with them.. | | | | | | |

| | I wrote a satire about Peta based on an actual event, but darn it I can't copy and paste yet! In reality Peta has time and time again proved themselves to be more dangerous to animals than a slaughterhouse. I just gained a load of respect for Jessica. | | | | | | |

| | people should be able to eat and wear what they want. In vegan vs non vegan battle thats your own decission weather or not to eat meat, and you should go by what you think is right, but you should also not pressure other people to conform to your opinion. | | | | | | |

| | I was vegetarian for four months, as in no meats, at all! But I wasn't vegan. I've been told there is a fundamental difference. See, I have no problem with the use of animals or animal by-products for clothing or shoes, etc. Leather is a fact of life. But I was on a health kick and cut out the meats and stuck with fruits and veggies, legumes, etc. As a matter of choice, I no longer eat beef, cause it's loaded with harmful chemicals and hormones. At least here, it is. And there have been numerous outbreaks of mad-cow disease around the world. And I figure it's only a matter of time before it hits the states. And, my best friend almost died after eating a beef burger from a fast food place. So, I figure that someone, somewhere is telling me to ditch the beef. But I'm good with chicken, fish, and other proteins. As for Peta, I don't know anything about them. They seem too radical for me. I don't really like Jessica Simpson either. So neither have my sympathy. | | | | | | |
