I've been ordained! |
That's right! I've just been ordained as clergy in the Church of Spiritual Humanism. It was really easy, and I really like what the church stands for. Now, I need to mylot my way towards paying for my official ID card so when I go around marrying people and performing baptisms I don't get arrested.
Can I marry you? Renew your vows? Christen your child? I only use my powers for good, not evil, so no curses. (Unless you want to pay extra)

Katesmama (3222) | 1 year ago | What exactly did you have in mind, Pike?
| |
p1kef1sh (5628) | 1 year ago | According to the web site; "You are prohibited from performing ceremonies that involve exorcism, circumcision and animal sacrifice." Now, which of those might I use, or all of them perhaps. LOL.
| |
Katesmama (3222) | 1 year ago | Though at some point you may require an exocism, I would never do the animal sacrifice thing (unless it was a terribly mean and nasty woodland creature with long claws and sharp teeth trying to rip my throat out). The circumcision thing, well, could try, but I don't think its a good idea.
| |
p1kef1sh (5628) | 1 year ago | I hear voices and "see" things Mama. I could have sworn I saw a discussion in which you said that you'd been ordained. I must need an exorcism. LOL. Except now, I suspect that your after me with a knife to ensure that I never call myself "Big Boy" again!!
| |
Katesmama (3222) | 1 year ago | Honestly, Pike, I would never in a bazillion years deprive anyone of the title "Big Boy." That would be a crime against humanity, my big boy or no.

2. BCMike (3316) | 1 year ago | I hope it takes you far. However, you should make a correction and take Christening out of your services. Since you profess to be a humanist, you are not a Christian, therefore you have no ability or affinity to making a CHRISTened one of someone's baby. And actually, there is nothing in the bible that suggests the practice either. Infant baptisms and Christenings will do nothing for the baby except get the child wet...

Katesmama (3222) | 1 year ago | I'm ready, would you like a traditional ceremony or can we all get naked?
| |
Goodie123 (7549) | 1 year ago | Anyone who wishes to be naked, can do so. But at the moment, I will be well and truly covered. Or the only sound you will hear, Is my booby's falling off, From being frozen.

6. drannhh (7256) | 1 year ago | Oh yummy, that sounds just like the Church of Universal Life, but I'm sure the cost of the card has gone up. Anyone can be a spiritual leader as long as one is willing to take the chance of having to put up with followers. Some unscrupulous people do, of course, make a ton of money that way, too.
But they seem to still be around:

And now offering instant absolution of sins!
Yes, yours is quite similar. Isn't the Affirmation of Love Certificate a hoot? I've met people who spent more on pet rocks. Have fun and enjoy it!
| |
| |
Katesmama (3222) | 1 year ago | My church seems to be a bargin, compared to this Univeral Life stuff. I wouldn't mind splurging for a D D of Dinivity, then I could do alot of other things without being arrested. LOL! Maybe not. I am holding out the Affirmation of Love Certificate, we'll see how much money i can raise from my followers. You in?

Bd200789 (1969) | 1 year ago | drannhh, my dad is a member of that. He joined about a year ago.
| |
drannhh (7256) | 1 year ago | LOL, you two. I can't even put up with the followers, I sure would never put up with a leader, not even one that makes Rooster Beak stew, lol. Hubby and I joined, too, way back in the 60's. Don't tell, but I think one of us actually married a couple. We did lots of crazy stuff in the 60's.

7. Angelwhispers (4595) | 1 year ago | I suspect that the course of study was quite intensive. Actually B, we do need someone to officiate over our annual garden blessing ceremony are you up for that?
| |
| |
Katesmama (3222) | 1 year ago | I'm up for it, but you will need to pay my travel and lodging expenses in addition to a small fee. And a hot naked man will need to stand next to me, fanning me from the heat and keeping the bees away.

8. snowy22315 (8096) | 1 year ago | I have not heard of that church. I am a Unitarian or at least I go to the Unitarian church. They are probably similar. Are they all over the country? I'd like to know alittle bit about them.

Katesmama (3222) | 1 year ago | There was a link on a discussion thread and I clicked it. Five minutes later and I'm official to conduct marriage ceremonies. The wedsite says the religion seeks unity and brotherhood wish all faiths, and that is something I firmly believe in.

Katesmama (3222) | 1 year ago | Well, trust that I do not take my duties lightly, though I may joke. I have had extensive religious study in the past, I've always had an interest in all faiths, the divine, history, customs and cultures. I've read the Bible, the Koran, the Bagvadgita, the Tibetian Book of the Dead and some of the Vedas.
Hopefully that link will come up soon, it does sound cool.

10. lucy02 (4472) | 1 year ago | Well I don't have any children and as far as renewing the vows, well, lets wait and see how the first works outs (j/k). I do have 4 dogs. Can you do anything for them?
| |
| |
lucy02 (4472) | 1 year ago | That should read "the first vows work out". I think I need a nap. I'm making a lot of errors tonight.
| |
Katesmama (3222) | 1 year ago | I will send you a blessing of no barking dogs during nap time. How does that sound?
| |
lucy02 (4472) | 1 year ago | That'll work! And throw in "no peeing on the floor" if you don't mind, lol.
