has anybody here at Mylot been on a summer vacation yet?

No I hven't been away at all this year, but I will be going next summer, Im trying to save up. I live in the country, well sort of. its a little town but getting bigger each year. What I do is I sometimes go off into the forest near where I live and loose myself with nature,I don't like crowds so I don't mind not going any where. I hope you and the boy have lovely vacation. At the very beginning of summer break we went to Minnesota, a drive of about 650 miles one way. That is because my daughter and her family live there right now. I had not seen the grand baby in awhile. It was fun, I posted some pictures from a conservatory we visited. It was very near where Grandpa Bob lives. I would like to go again. We have also gone to Guthrie, Oklahoma, where my brother lives. We love doing that. It is just hubby and I so we are very easily entertained. Gatlinburg would be fun, too.

As you know I did part of it...one week in Arizona...one in Wisconsin. I still have one week left and that will be the first week of Sept when I go with my son and his family to Northern Minnesota to a resort for a week. We went to the same place last year and it's so beautiful! We had a great time. Even if the weather is bad we'll still have fun as there is so much to do up there!

My last vacation was back in May and that will be our only vacation of this year! We want to get our garden done which is going to cost an awful lot of money and also we are saving to go abroad next year. So we will just make do with some days out through the kids school holidays I reckon.

Although right now I would love dearly to go away, somewhere that has beautiful sunny weather if that was poss, cos so far we are not doing so well for nice weather.

Yes, I've been on vacation this year already. Back in early June, I went on a camping trip with my parents and sister for a week at a state park. We stayed in a trailer, and the lake we were at was absolutely beautiful (though we had one evening where it was pouring like crazy- glad we had a trailer, and not a tent!). We went on several long walks, went swimming, and so on.

I hope that you get a chance to do something else fun this summer.

we spent the last week of may in lanzarote in the hot sun, it was fantastic although hubby burnt on the first day there so turned into a hermet crab after that and hid in the apartment untill evening, got some lovely tan lines.

I don't know if I would consider it a vacation, but becaus my usband is an American and I am a Canadian, I spend half the year in Canada, and the other hal the year in the USA. I just got back rom a hal a year in Arizona. I love it in both plaes.

I haven't had my summer vacation yet. I don't think I will be taking one this year since gas is so high and funds are low. I just might go somewhere local.

I would love to go somewhere for a summer vacation.
But having to tend to my dad makes it nearly impossible. Unless I could talk him into paying a health care associate to visit a few times daily for the time we were gone it's not going to happen. Sucks but that's my life for now anyhow. I do get away for a day at times though so I take
a bunch of close by mini-vacations I guess.

Hi As I live in a coastal town I tend not to have a summer vacation just walk down to the beach if the weather is good but I do have odd weekends away to visit friends and family so I class these short breaks as my vacations and have had three or four already this year. The one thing I would like to do though is to get to Spain to visit my mother at some stage but haven't organised yet. Ellie:D
