I just had one of those God Stop Moments, where you just have to act. We are always defending the faith or arguing this or that theological point, and I do enjoy that, but what about your conversion testamony? Is it something that you would be willing to share? God's providence in action!

I first became interested in theology when a person, that I didn't particularly care for, told me about the Bible Answerman, Hank Haanegraaf. She said that she couldn't stand him so I knew that I had to listen. Now, I'm no big fan of Hank's but I did pick up a few things and about a year later I came to Christ. There were other influences along the way, our Schwanns man left me "The Case for Faith" on tape and I listened to that, TWICE! I began to read a lot. Not the puff stuff, but theological texts like Geislers Apologetics. One thing led to another and I was absolutely convinced in the truth of the Gospel of Christ.

What's your story?

I came from a church going family. When I was three and my mom and aunt were doing the church bulletin while my cousin (age 4) and I were playing in the nursery, I was convinced that I saw Jesus...when my cousin and I slipped into the sanctuary. The church was locked and the pastor and sexton were both out of town. My mom and aunt searched the church for some strange man, but could never find any. My cousin was almost in shock, but I beemed and knew that I had seen Jesus.

A few years later - at about age 7 - I asked Jesus to be my Lord and Savior during children's church. As I made my way back to the sanctuary after children's church, I whispered, "Where are you, Jesus?" And a booming, yet kind voice responded, "I'm right here, Marilyn."

Some think that kids are not capable of accepting Christ that young. But I immediately asked for and received a Bible. I read the entire Bible about 3 times before I was out of high school. At first I had the KJV and I have to say that sometimes I think I understood it more as a child than I do as an adult.:-) I'm sure God's Holy Spirit was helping me every step of the way.

I'm also certain that I asked Jesus into my heart that early because God knew I would need Him - for the childhood that I had. Without knowing that I was loved so much by God, my childhood could have been pretty horrible. Knowing God's love made it so much easier.

Very cool! Thanks for sharing.

I sincerely believe that children can know God, even more than adults in some cases. After all, Christ said that we should become as little children. Of course he was helping you understand the Bible. Especially the KJV is hard to understand because the language is archaic, but it is beautiful. God Bless

My story is just the other way around. I was raised catholic and then married a born again christian. I have been suspect about the whole bible thing since I was a kid, but trying to be a good catholic girl, I stuck it out. Then trying to be a good christian wife,I again stuck it out, but always felt like there was something missing.
I looked into different religions and when I came across the wiccan religion, I instantly felt a connection, as if this is what I have been searching for all my life.

With my husband being a born again christian, that of course proofed to be a problem at first, but after some long discussions, he understood and he loves me and accepts me regardless of what spiritual path I choose.

I think he is a prime example for a christian. Tolerant and loving and not judgemental and narrowminded like so many.

Following my chosen path has made me a better, happier and stronger person.
And that is my conversion story:)

The Bible tells us to hate the sin and not the sinner. And God says we are not to judge. We must love our neighbor as ourself. I am a born again Christian, but I studied Wicca and many other faiths. I stepped off the path when I was about 15 and just came back to Jesus 2 years ago, at 63. I believe that if you sincerely repent of your sins you will go to heaven. I'm still having trouble with the concept of hanging out on streets of gold and maybe playing a harp.
