I hate horse riding because....  

I love all animals but I must be honest and say I am terrified of horses, I guess its because they are so much bigger than me, as beautiful as they are.

Sorry that you have had such bad experiences with horses. I also have had a few incidents with them, a couple resulting in broken bones. Although, horses are my true love and I do own two of them now. The key is to be around the good ones and learn how to be safe with them.

Horses have been in my life for as long as I can remember. And yes there have been some moments if I may say. Probably my worst moment happened when I was 10 - my horse ran out and I had no way of stopping it. Actually we were only two seconds from being hit by a trailer. - During the years I have broken some bones and had some awfull falls - but I'm still at it and I love my horses!

Horses can sense when you are scared and tense; they get frightened also. If their rider does not have confidence, they too, have something to be afraid about. I am sorry that you had bad experiences with horses, but maybe you were simply not meant as a rider. Or perhaps, the mounts you rode were not the best choices. When a pair doesn't match, bad incidents tend to occur. If you would like to continue riding, I suggest taking some good beginner lessons that will re-assure you and teach you how to handle horses a bit better. Giving up is never a good decision, unless you truly have lost your desire to ride. [I am not trying to be rude; just helpful xD] I hope you find the right thing to do; good luck!

I love horses,and ponies,I enjoy going to my moms friends farm and watching the horses in the field,some of them are race horses,many are just average.It is fun to watch them as they play,they really do run around and seem to be playing with each other.Did you know if you watch horses in a field they always graze at 360 degree angles,if one horse moves a little they all will move a little to keep that angle of vision.Because they used to travel in herds before they were domesticated it is their nature to always be in a position for them all to be on the alert for any kind of danger.
I love to watch them however I to am afraid of them when I was little we had horses on our farm my mom put me on a horse when I was about six and slapped the horse in the rear hard,the horse took off fast and I lost my grip,not being in a saddle all I had to hold onto was the horses mane,needless to say I fell off.The another horse we had I would try to ride when I got older,and my brother would show the horse a carrot and then run so naturally the horse would trot after him,again no saddle and I would fall off.I gave up after that and have never ridden again.

Hello makemoneyhear. I never have a bad incident with horses, but I always have this fear whenever I ride horses that the horse might run fast or I might fall. My sister did fall when she rode a horse. The man holding the rein of the horse accidentally let go of the rein. The horse was running. I dont know how the horse stopped but my sister fell on her butt. Ouch! thats gotta hurt.
