When, "Are you finding everything alright?" gets annoying

Yes i get very annoyed cause i am a very shy person its like just leave me alone. I hate it cause i don't really wanna say anything to them...

This particular store, they force a basket on you, Im like 'Am hello, I DONT WANT TO buy a whole basket of stuff!' Its the most annoying thing in the world

I cant stand a sales person to be stuck up on me. If I need your help I will come ask, but I also don't like needing help and can't find anyone. There needs to be a happy medium.

This is a means of tracking the customer for security reasons and to prevent theft loss? I know because at one time I was a security person.
They couldn't care less what you have or have not found? They don't want anything stolen. If it annoys you, just go to a different store that leaves you alone! (I do.)

You are right....sometimes it does get annoying but it's their job...but with me it's right up there with driving through a drive up to order something to eat....they tell you to pull ahead and they have their hand out for the money....Like you just found out how much it cost and need to find it in your purse first! Dah!

I can totally understand your frustration & I can see how that can be annoying as well, but I used to work for Walmart. This is a store that only THINKS they know what the customers want. Try telling them different! They instruct us to say these things to the customers reguardless or whether we want to say them or they want to hear them. I hated being so business like with my customers & when the managers were not around I just tried being more friendly & a lot more natural with them. Even customers that came in grumpy would leave with a smile afterwards. I find this a lot more effective they these lines from a script that they would want us to say.

There is a right way and a wrong way for a sales person to approach a customer. Asking if they need help is not the right way because it invites the response "no thank you".

A sales person can approach a customer in a natural friendly manner and say something about the product which will invite the customer to start asking questions about it.

I do get annoyed with 'scripted' questions or comments from people working in stores, and it must be annoying for them to have to do it too.

Yeah, I dont really like that either. If I cant find something I think I know enough to ask a clerk. Sometimes you might just want to comparison shop and dont need people asking you what you need all the time.

yes I hate that as its very annoying and you know what you are looking for, and you know when you have found it. Just leave me alone and let me get on with my shopping. if I need help I will ask for it, otherwise leave me be.If they would wait til we did

Yeah there are plenty of times I end up not going into a small store in the mall because its empty and I don't want them stalking me around begging me to buy one thing...I hate it when stores have no one in them...
