Ever had the security tag left in your clothes? |
| |
| This has happened to me at least once. You go to the store, buy something only to get home and realize that they left the HUGE, bulky plastic security tag in your clothes. How could the cashier MISS it? What I always wonder is how they manage to let people get through even if they have tagged clothing. Heck, you could go rob the store blind and they wouldnt know, or something? LOL. In my local mall, the security sensors at the front of the store in EVERY STORE is always broken. A person will walk buy outside the store, it goes off. A person who didn't buy (or steal) anything will walk through, having found nothing they wanted - it goes off. A person ENTERS the store, it goes off. It's ridiculous, and they never stop anyone, lol. It makes you wonder how they let such things go. So has anyone else ever had this huge bulky tag left in their new clothes? And better yet, have you ever been STOPPED for it because a store worker assumed that because the alarm went off, that you hadn't paid? Oh, and please share how you get the darned things off I've come up with a pretty okay method of prying it off with a screwdriver, but I'm sure there's a more...efficient method, lol! | | | | | |

| | LOL I had this happen once and I had shopped in another state and didn't notice until I got home and I had to call the corporate office and they told me to take it to a store that was part of their "line" because it was one of those dye ones. What a pain and no one ever said sorry or anything about it. The store I took it to acted as if I had stolen it even though I had the tape to prove I didn't. | | | | | | |

| | I have no idea how to get the ink ones off. It is pretty bad when the cashier can't do their job correctly! | | | |

| | It happened to me once when I shopped wihle on vacation and had my purchases sent home. I couldn't figure out a way to get the thing off without ruining the delicate silk top it was weighing down. I called several shops in town, but they wouldn't remove someone else's tag. I called the shop in California where I got it, and they weren't too cooperative. The cost of shipping, their charge for taking the thing off, and the cost of shipping it back to me came to more than I'd paid for the top. Now, eleven years later, it's hanging in a guestroom closet with that lousy tag still on it! It reminds me to check every purchase very, very carefully. | | | | | | |

| | Yep, I sure have gotten home and found a huge, bulky plastic security tag on something I bought and it was a total pain to deal with. My main problem was that the store where I bought the item is a one hour drive from my house. Soooo, I decided to get a screwdriver and pliers and pry the sucker off. Well...it came off and it also put a hole in the garment. Ugh! I learned my lesson...now I seriously check everything I buy before I leave the parking lot. | | | | | | |

| | This has happened to me on a few occasions. Some on clothing and some on some shoes. And sure enough when walking out the door the alarm never went off. So how good really are these dumb tags. I never did take it back to the store as I refused to drive all the way back there. I did not use a screwdriver as well as you don't know if its an ink blotter or not. I got a heavy heavy magnet and it seemed to do the trick. I am not talking about the cheap fridge magnets but a heavy duty one. It worked great. And no ink marks or damages to the clothing. | | | | | | |

| | I had just arrived home as I came home from the store. I was putting up my new clothes when I noticed the security tag on one of my jeans. I was like "No, this can't be"! I did not want to risk the ink spraying all over the place so I took the jeans back to store to get it taken off. I always wonder what would have happened if I would have tried to take it off myself. | | | | | | |

| | This happened to me once that I can remember. We travelled about 1.5-2 hours to a mall specifically to go to a store that isn't at many malls. So I get several items. Including 2 shirts that costed I think $44 a piece. Not t-shirts, they were dressy and had ties with them(think hot topic--it was a store like that), still overpriced, but I liked them, and I don't buy clothes often. LOL Anyway, so we almost get back and I realize, OMG there are security things on these! So, my dad decided he would try to see if he could get it off, the first one he attempts this with is a top that was white with light pinstripes. Well, that was a huge mistake! Ink ended up staining the shirt big time! Luckily we were able to take them back to the store when we got the chance and they even gave us stamped discount cards for future purchases. So yea, I'm so glad that never happened again, but I don't think I will ever attempt to remove a tag after what happened when my dad tried it. LOL | | | | | | |

| | yea, that's happened to me. some of the young clerks in the stores here think it's funny to leave them on so it'll ring when you walk through and embarrass you. the local tjmaxx fired a couple for that not too long ago. | | | | | | |

| | I am lucky that such things have never happened on me. In China, only some clothes and trousers in supermarket are bound with the security tags. In the shopping mall, they do not have this kind of tags. We pay and take what we buy to go home. | | | | | | |
