Was just reading a company website that has produced luggage with powered wheels..WHY? Airlines are hitting passengers with fees for an extra bag, excess weight,etc..Do We really need baggage with added weight due to a built in battery pack and motor? Surely travelling light is on everyone's mind, and the wardrobe on wheels a thing of the past? And what's wrong with a Luggage cart, anyway? Would you buy a Powered suitcase?

If I could use the powered suitcase as a means of travel, then why not?

I had that thought too when I heard the concept-I had a mental picture of a passenger astride the thing like a motorbike, riding it into the terminal and up to check in,but it just looks like your regular samsonite type thing with wheels on 2 of the corners, and one of those retractable handles-you still have to pull it..or steer it,at least!lol

I wouldn't buy a powered suitcase or an ordinary one for that matter. I prefer to travel with a large backpack and a day backpack. Yes, traveling light is on my mind when I fly with an airline. My latest trip was with an airline that only allowed 15kg of luggage. I packed carefully and used a scales to make sure it was the right weight. Otherwise the excess baggage fee would have been a lot of money. I did have a backpack on wheels once but one of the wheels came off it. I think that a powered suitcase might not last for very long. A backpack lasts far longer that a suitcase on wheels. I wonder how popular the powered suitcase will be.
