Why do most black actors refuse to kiss white actresses in movies?  |

 I am just curious about this. I watched a movie yesterday with the actor Will Smith where his love interest was a white actress. Now there was this scene where he was supposed to kiss the actress & supposedly he did, but they don't show you. I started to think about it & the truth is I can't remember one movie where Will Smith actually kissed a white woman. He's not the only one either. One of my favorite movies is the Pelican Brief. Now I read the book as well & the character that Denzel Washington played gets together with the character that Julia Roberts played. The movie even hints at them having a romantic interest in each other, yet they never actually get together. Close, but not quite. Then there is the actor Eddie Murphy who openly admitted on the Ophra Winfry show a few years back that not only would he NOT date a white woman in real life, but he would never kiss one in a movie either. I don't understand this at all. There are white actors that kiss black actresses, yet most black actors (notice I said most, not all)refuse to kiss white actresses in a movie. Were we not all created by God? Do we not all have the same red blood running in our veins? Being white is not something like a diesease that these actors can catch & isn't is after all just acting? Can't they at least act like they are attracted to white women? How do you feel about this? I would like to hear EVERYONE'S opinon on this. Am I the only one that finds this not only offensive, but wrong as well?

Besides it's called acting & starring in movies where you have a romantic interest sometimes means you have to kiss another woman other then your wife. I don't agree with that, but thats just how it is. | |

But I'm also thinking that both of the men you mentioned are married. Might have caused a change in the movies they act in now.
Not a definite but it is an idea. My husband is a wonderfully beautiful chocolate man and I would be quite miffed if he were to kiss another woman, whatever her color, even if it was his job. I just love my husband that much that I'd be jealous over ANY kiss.

I wouldn't want my husband to ever kiss anyone other then me, but then I would never marry an actor for the very reason. Most times this is something they just have to do. Besides all of these actors have kissed other women in their movies before reguarless of whether they are married or not. I've just recently relized that they have never kissed a white woman(as far as I know of course). | |

Maybe it's just a case to case basis, I mean are you sure is the black actor who didn't want to kiss the white actress or is it the other way around? How about the script, what's written there and by who? I mean there's a lot to consider here and let's not jump to conclusion as yet. Just my 1 cent.

Probably the producers think it would be too much for a general audience in a country that has had such racial problems like the US.
