Are you afraid of the dark?

When I was young, I was afraid of the dark. Especially whenever I would have a vacation at my grandparents house in the province. There are a lot of creepy sounds that scare me. But now, just a little. What about you? Were you afraid of the dark when you were little? What about now? Are you still afraid of the dark?

I used to be afraid of the dark... but not anymore... because i need to be brave since my baby and i are the only ones living in the apartment... and it wouldn't be a good thing if i cannot be brave for her... but i always have the night light on everytime we go to sleep... that simple thing can already make me brave...

Yes, I was more afraid of darkness in my childhood years. But now, I am a little afraid of darkness and feel insecured in darkness. Darkness is the symbol of ignorance! Thanks with enlightment!

I would say I have always been afraid of the dark. Well it's not the dark that scares me it's what's in the dark. The mind is a wonderful thing but it can also scare the crap out of you when there is nothing to fear. Even today, and I am in my 50s now, I have to control my thoughts or I would still be afraid of the dark.

Hello, When I was younger, I was afraid of the dark, I had to turn on every light in the house just to get to my room. There has been times where, I've heard noises and had heard the radio on, when on one was in the room. One time, when my mother use to work, she would get up around 5am to get ready for work, i wait until she was done so that I could get ready myself. This one time, I needed to use the bathroom, and I could see from the bottom of my door that the light was on and the radio was playing. I waited and waited for her to come out and never did. I finally got up and went over to knock on the door, there was no answer, I knocked again, still no answer. I could hear the music from inside. So I pushed the door open, the radio was off, the light was turn off. So yes to this day I still get scared. This is just one story of several that I have heard something.

I used to be scared too. Now, I am not that scared. If I am alone at home and the house is dark, I am not scared at all. However, if I am at a chalet or another country alone, it might be a different story. I might feel slightly scared. Usually, I'll pray myself to sleep. Once, I needed to walk across a very dark stretch of road with no lights. I was initially very scared. Then, I started praying and walked as fast as I can.

I was always afraid to go anywhere when it was dark as a child. Even today I get chills sometimes walking upstairs when there are no lights on. And yes, I hate going outside in the dark, always have and probably always will. I live in the country, and I've always had a vision of a coyote or bobcat attacking me. The more I think about what "might" be out there, the more my adrenaline is pumping, and I just feel like running to get back to the house. :)
