dads personality has changed in the last two months  | |  my dad used to be very out going and chat to anyone and very chatty. the last two months he has totally changed, he is very quiet and inward and just stairs at the tv as if his soul has gone. he is not interested in anything anymore and when i tell him to go doctors about stuff or do anything he says he cant be bothered. he does not care. its like his spirit has gone out of him. i wonder if he could have suffered a mini stroke? as i dont live with him therefore i would not know. i have read that min strokes only last a few minutes and then the person can go back to normal as if it had not have happened. he already suffers heart disease and he had his pacemaker check last week. he talks fine and can walk about although he is weak now, but his age i guess. maybe there is someone here that would know? he wont to go the doctors as he said he is suffering from headaches.

It could be anything from depression out of being "useless" (older people tend to feel that society no longer has use for them), a brain tumor (the most radical changes are with brain tumors), or it may well be as you thought, a mini-stroke. Though I think it might as well be ruled out because a brain shock as big as that would mean that a part of the face would sag, or at least there should be some changes that would manifest in the body. My guess is that it is most likely feeling useless for being old.
Maybe it's time to let your dad get to know Jesus. Being old doesn't mean being useless and un-passionate for life. I would like to grow old and know that I am still part of the grand scheme of things... by being able to pray for people, cities, nations, and whatever else I feel like praying about.
:) I hope your dad gets his zest for life back again.
