Do accents make people more attractive?

I love a French accent when they are speaking English.

I don't think accents make me attracted to people.

I use to work with someone from India who had an English sort of accent. Every time she was on the telephone people believed anything she said because of the accent. The English sound like they know everything.

I think that's funny. But it shows how shallow people can be. If the man has an accent to you then you have an accent to him. What's the difference? I guess I've gotten old and really need to get a good feel for a person's character/personality to determine whether I like them or not.

Of course accents don't matter!Many people sound incredibly 'proper' and have lovely speaking voices,yet behind their doe like eyes lies a brain untroubled by thought!.Its one of the way to communicate but not for attraction.

Hmmm, interesting questions. I would say that it's the total package ofcourse a sexy accent does make me do a double take if they don't have brains enough for a good conversation or if the accent is so thick that I can't understand them, then it's a total turn off and I can't stand it. The accent is a plus but it's only that it's the whole sum of the person that attracts me. I think the brittish accent on guys is hot. Bloody hell!!!

i absolutely love australian accents. i think they make the person look and seem even more attractive. what drives me nuts is a german accent (no offence to anyone to be sure!) but i have been around german accents forever thats all (my hubby is german and we have been married for 20 years and together for even longer.)

I don't know if they make people more attractive but I truly love some accents more than others and one of my favorites accents is the British accent, and I love a true southern accent,

Many sections of countries have their own accents some of them I can do without Like Baltimore has its own accent and its one I hope to live without every picking up and having lived here for 15 years, I'd like to avoid picking it up.

But some accents are much nicer and more pleasant to listen to than others.

I would have to say that a spanish accent on a beautiful woman is very attractive, its one of the reasons I took Spanish, to woo the senioritas. Gloria Estefan is the one that got away.

i don't care much of the accents. for me, it's the whole personality that matters. maybe because, i was not raised in an english speaking country.

for american people (other english speaking countries), do you really care for the accents?

WEll honey I love some accents but then there are so many different accents out there and whilst i adore the accents of people like you, Nova and angelwhispers I don't think an accent alone is what does it - I think it is the warmth and personality behind the accent that does it for me! xxx

I love love love an accent! The hottest to me are English or Australian. Certain accents (don't want to offend so I won't name which type) drive me nuts though! And I hate the word "y'all". Reminds me of Britney Spears!
