 According to an inquiry established by an italian newspaper Repubblica,several thousands tons of damaged cheese would then have been recycled and sold in Europe.

| bunnybon7 (765) | 3 months ago |  thats true. and so scarey. looks like they'd be worried about law suits. here in US, lots of law suits make them a little more careful, but still it happens that something gets by and people get sick. just recently they found salonella in tomatoes and im not sure if they found out where it was coming from yet

Other than this, I think that Europe is much better with food than America.

| Cannonball (667) | 3 months ago | The thing with this affair is that this has nothing to do with the expiry date + this involves the famous brand Galbana which I guess is not the cheapest.
After all the ads they did, finally the customers adopt the name of the brand and finally make it a part of their life,I mean just like buying good vegetables or any other product.
This really makes me wonder about the trust we usually can get with big brands,especially with food in this case. | |

| 5. ljegbers (5762) | 3 months ago |  I think that's just sad, but glad that more awareness is out there for companies that do this. Especially with more international trade. Who's to say Walmart doesn't buy up a bunch of expried, repackaged stuff and sell it? (Them as an example). I mean meats are imported from all over the place and the companies don't have the same standards that US producters do.
We butcher our own so I know or get from a butcher. As far as veggies, never frozen I will buy fresh or only from a trusted company like Schwan's. I'll pay the extra knowing I'm getting a good clean product.
