Which book of the Holy Bible is dearest to your heart ? I consider the Book of Psalms very close to my heart. My heart is greatly warmed whenever I read a passage from the Book of Psalms. It is a cry of utter dependence upon the Lord. It also gives comfort to me during my down moments.

I am not sure if I can pick one specific book that I like the best. I do agree that Psalms is great because it has a lot of encouraging words in there. I also like Proverbs because it offers wisdom. We all know that we need to make wise choices in our lives. Now, I am focusing on the New Testament because it is more of the era we are living in. I am trying to get into Revelations because that is one book of the bible that is talking about what is to come. It is scary to me but it is definitely something to read about especially since the bible itself says that you will be blessed if you read that book.

I can't pick a favorite one but if I had to, it would be Psalms. A lot of my favorite Christians are Psalms or parts of Psalms which makes them easy to remember. Like you, they pick me up when I'm down, best of all they help me to "rejoice in the Lord always".

All four of the gospels in the New Testament are dearest to my heart. They all talk about Jesus resurrecting Lazarus. They all remind me of the day when Jesus will come back and get his Church.

Hi cristine, I agree that the Book of Psalms is beautiful, and I like to read it, but I believe Christians must first and foremost read and study the gospels. It is here that we get the teachings of Jesus, and certainly he is the model for all Christians. He is the perfect example of what we were born to be. I think that all Christians should make it there life's purpose to become more and more like him. Blessings.

I always gravitate to the book of James. It holds so many things for the Christian on how to live. It tells us that a doubleminded man is unstable in all his ways. We need to trust God with all our heart, have the patience of Job and treat our neighbor as we would want to be treated. There are many golden nuggets in James.
