Have you lost an examination certification or some other important document?

In my time I have mislaid many things. Usually they have not meant anything more than a minor inconvenience. Just at the moment I am not sure where my birth certificate is, for example, but I don't need it now and have no doubt it will turn up before I do need it again.

I have a friend who couldn't find his passport two days before he was due to go on holiday. He was frantic for the whole two days; turned the house upside down (almost literally); looked EVERYWHERE three times including bookshelves, CD collection, every single drawer, box and cupboard, table, sideboard and nightstand. Having cancelled his flight, he finally lay down on the bed in despair and, glancing sideways, saw his passport slid beneath the clock-radio on the nightstand!
