What happens if you claim a call on AC

and then don't submit the article by the deadline? I was just wondering this since I claimed a call and submitted just hours before the deadline (after having days to write the article, of course). It says not to claim if you can't meet the deadline, but surely things come up and people miss deadlines sometimes. Do they stop making calls for content available to you if you miss too many deadlines?

They come to your house and break your fingers. Just kidding, I write for them and I had to cancel a call for content once, they kind of scolded me but nothing happened. I haven't seen anything lately that would cause me to claim a topic, most of its for the casa blanca race. BTW, what is your link to AC? Here is mine, http://www.associatedcontent.com/user/42897/jeff_rogers.html Also, I put my AC link on my myLot page and I've got about 500 more page views because of that trick, you might try it too. I don't know if they quit letting you claim calls for content or not, I don't want to find out.

I do have my link in my profile, but here it is anyway. http://www.associatedcontent.com/user/66709/marcia_j.html I'll go check out your articles. It's always good to help each other out. I don't see calls that I like very often, at least not when I actually have time to write. This one was a call to apply to write for AC's partners, and the article could be on any topic, so I claimed it because I already had a topic I was writing on-- and I figured it couldn't hurt to submit for review by other publishers. I submitted it a few days ago and it hasn't been approved yet, but things have been slow around there lately, from what I hear.

Sorry, I looked to the right and there it was, typical male, if it doesn't fall into my outstretched hands, I cannot find it. I added you and subscribed too. Best of luck on the call for content.

I know this is a little late Sillychick but I did want to respond. I guess that's why I've been so afraid to claim one of those on AC. I'm just terrible with deadlines. How did it go, did you get paid, did they accept it after all?

It was one for no upfront payment, and yes, it was published. Thanks for adding me to your favorites, I'll do the same for you. I can use all the help I can get. I'm still fairly new to writing and am always open to feedback, so please feel free to comment if you like.

From what I understand, if you submit articles late, not at all, or drop them 3 or less days away from the deadline that it makes less Calls for Content available to you.

That makes sense. Thanks.

Thanks so much for posting this! I just submitted two articles that are past due. It's not even midnight here in California and I thought I had until then. Thanks for the help!
