| French Films  | | | |  Im currently obsessed with watching French art films and was wondering how do people them? I think there's always this ongoing debate about "French Art Films" at least some, being a bit too explicit. What do you think? For me its fine, I mean, its the story behind it that counts right?Anyway, I would also LOVE some film recommendations. Art or non-art.:-)

| |  Hi, I also love French films. I think they provide an alternative world from the often bland Hollywood genre. I would recommend:
1 Jean de Florette / Manon des Sources
2. Jules et Jim
3. The 400 Blows
and... well there are so many!

| |  French cinema is decent enough but there are a lot of other countries producing good movies. As far as French films go I recommend (these are the English names) Man Bites Dog and Brotherhood of the Wolf aka Pacte des Loups. Both are not your run of the mill French films but show a little more diversity than the Amelie types. Don't get me wrong I love Amelie.
